Why You Should Avoid Cystic Acne Remedies

Cystic acne is nothing to be trifled with. You do not want to use home remedies when dealing with this type of acne because the side effects may be too great to ignore. Here are some reasons why you should not use home remedies for cystic acne:

Reason #1. They Are Not Strong Enough

While home remedies may reduce normal types of acne, the odds of a home remedy significantly improving bad cystic acne is very low. The truth is that cystic acne is often triggered by hormones or as a reaction or side effect to certain medications. This is not exactly a normal condition.

As a result, simply destroying some of the bacteria and unblocking pores may not do much (if anything at all) to get rid of cystic acne. An approach beyond the home remedy route may be needed to clear cystic acne.

Reason #2. Cystic Acne Leaves Scars and Cysts

The big problem with cystic acne is that it leaves scars and cysts in the skin. Scars represent themselves as the discolorations and ice-pick or rolling marks on the face that are left behind when cystic acne heals over. Cysts are hard lumps under the skin that are often permanent and result from cystic acne.

Once these scars and cysts form, they typically do not go away on their own. They last a lifetime. The last thing you want to do is try to use home remedies to get rid of this acne only to discover that they are not working after a few months of trying. During those few months, you may rack up a large number of new acne scars and cysts. Just cut to the chase and skip the home remedies.

Reason #3. The Risk of Infection

Another problem with cystic acne is that the acne itself may lead to a more severe infection. Cystic acne is almost an open wound on the skin, so you do not want to apply possibly unclean natural remedies. This could lead to infection.

The biggest worry with cystic acne is that you may be exposed to the MRSA bacteria. MRSA is a potentially fatal infection that can easily enter the skin through cystic acne. Keep cystic acne covered up in public and be careful about shared surfaces like chairs.

Solution: See a Dermatologist

If you have cystic acne, the only real solution is to see a Dermatologist without delay. While they may recommend simple or complex treatments, the faster you can clear up the acne the less scarring you will have.
