Home remedies are a great way to reduce acne without succumbing to the temptation of prescription medication. Many of these prescriptions have harsh side effects so the idea of treating this naturally is very appealing to many people. In this quick guide, Hugo will reveal to you some new remedies that you can use to help get rid of your acne from home.
Tea Tree Oil
This oil has had some success in reducing acne simply by being applied directly to the acne lesion.Just rub it in and allow it to go to work. You will still want to wash your face before going to bed though, do not leave the oil in overnight. You would not want to clog the pores nor would you want to get the oil all over your pillow case and bed sheets. It is a bit messy but it works.
Stores like Trader Joe’s provide this acne remedy at a reasonable price. It is in their supplements section though, you will not find it in the cooking oils. I do not think it tastes very good and most brands are infused with perfume so they are not suitable for cooking anyway.
Just like green tea is used as an aide for cancer prevention and weight loss, it also seems to be good for acne sufferers. Try drinking a few cups of green tea a day to see if the antioxidants benefit your acne.
Additionally, you can take the teabags you use to make the green tea after brewing and just lay them right on top of your trouble spots. Allow them to soak in for 15 minutes or so before taking the teabags off and rinsing off. Green Tea is supposed to be able to kill bacteria (at least somewhat) so this may help clear up acne.
Supplementation with Fish Oil
A lot of people mistakenly think that they need to cut down on the fats in their diet if they have oily skin and want to reduce acne. This is a myth and actually the opposite of the truth. The body needs oils in order to form its cells and to generate healthy skin. One of the primary components of a healthy skin cell that is often missing in the diet is omega-3 fatty acids. Restore these fatty acids with a fish oil supplement and sit back and wash as your skin begins to glow.
